Happy December! With Thanksgiving being so late this year, it feels surreal that we're only weeks away from Christmas and the New Year. Like, what?! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, if you celebrated. We enjoyed having family over for several nights, playing board games, and, of course, noshing on lots of goodies!
Incoming Vulnerable Moment! I did, however, have a hiccup on the last day and wound up in the ER with excruciating side pain...again. I've been dealing with this for a little over two years and (clearly) haven't gotten to the bottom of it, yet. I thought it was just a mushroom allergy but, I've been avoiding those suckers for nearly a year, and it still happened. So, I've decided to begin the process of prioritizing my health. This won't be easy because I was never shown how to do it. I'm sure many of you can relate to that. I've got a follow-up appointment scheduled with a GI Doctor that will hopefully get me onto a path towards a solution. I'm fortunate that I don't have much else 'wrong' with me but, you kind of need your pancreas, you know?! I wanted to share this so that you understand why I'm going to scale back a bit this month; so that I can prioritize time for a couple of appointments, research on my symptoms, and getting myself setup for success next year. I often get so excited and focused on my work that my body's needs get put on the back burner. What can I say, I love what I do!
I have soo many things that I want to do with the cafeteria next year. Especially with the tenants coming into the third floor. I need to take time to plan things out and make sure that I'm making the right decisions about my offerings and the structure of my team so that I can build in time for me to focus on my health, as well. I appreciate you understanding. I know each of us is on our own health journey and that I'm not alone in facing some challenges along the way. We've got this. Stay positive. Stay hopeful. Make yourself a priority.
